Costco Australia & Somerdale Team Up For Speciality Cheese Roadshow
Somerdale the leading supplier of British cheese to the
Australian retail and foodservice sector is teaming up with Costco to showcase a
range of great tasting speciality British cheeses. The series
of Costco Roadshows will take place from 19 – 23 October 2016 at all 8 of the
leading wholesalers’ warehouses located across Australia.
The roadshows will feature the sampling of some of the very
best cheese the UK has to offer ranging from traditional, aged Cheddar through
to the latest take on Modern British cheese.
At the same time, representatives from Somerdale and some of the UK’s
leading cheesemakers that supply it will be on hand to explain more about their
cheeses, how they are made and how they can best be used and merchandised.
Among the great tasting cheeses that will be sampled are:
- Il Truffelino – which combines the creamy texture of Classic
English Cheddar with the complex and luxuriant flavour of Black Summer Truffle.
- Somerdale Wensleydale with Cranberry - Creamy with an open
texture, Wensleydale is one of the oldest cheese varieties in England. It has a natural sweet acidity that
compliments fruit, best of all cranberries.
- Poacher’s Cheddar – part of Somerdale’s 'Heraldic' range of
flavoured cheddars Poacher’s combines great tasting mature English Cheddar
Cheese with Caramelised Onions.
- Coastal Cheddar – a unique tasting Cheddar from Ford Farm in
Dorset, England – aged for up to 15 months it has a deliciously sweet,
- Cave Aged Cheddar - a delicious, full bodied award winning farmhouse
cheddar, 'Cave Aged' is a cloth bound Cheddar aged deep within the Caves at
Wookey Hole in Somerset, England.
- Blue Stilton – the "King of English Cheeses”, Long Clawson’s
award winning Blue Stilton® is wonderfully creamy with the distinctive blue
