SOMERDALE AIMS TO INCREASE SALES OF BRITISH CHEESE IN THE GULF
SAUDI HORECA 2018 - BOOTH E20
Somerdale will be boosting the profile of British cheese in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states this Autumn. In partnership with our Middle East distributor Gulf Central Co Ltd, we will be showcasing a range of British cheese at Saudi Horeca 2018. This is the largest hospitality show in Saudi Arabia, and is being held between 27th – 29th November at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center.
With sales to Saudi Arabia now worth in excess of £1.5 million per annum, Somerdale will be attending Saudi Horeca for the fourth year in a row. Once again we will be exhibiting our best-selling range of Westminster Cheddars which are sold through all the major retailers in Saudi, and into an increasingly wide range of food-service operators.
We have seen considerable growth in the Middle East over the last 5 years and Saudi has remained our largest and fastest growing market within the region. Currently, Somerdale’s Westminster brand of Cheddar is the 3rd largest being sold in Saudi but we believe there is potential to build sales further and expand not only the range of cheese we sell but also develop a presence in other Gulf states.

In addition to Saudi Arabia, Somerdale also has a growing customer base in Dubai and we will use our presence at Saudi Horeca to develop further relationships with customers in other Gulf states including Kuwait and Oman, as well as other Middle East countries such as Lebanon and Jordan.
